摘要
设计驱动创新是创新领域的前沿新兴话题,其对语义创新的强调使创新过程复杂与多样,充斥着竞争性需求与矛盾。本文以悖论管理理论为基础,针对两家设计咨询公司,采用深度访谈、现场观察、二手数据等方法收集案例数据,并运用扎根理论分析法对设计驱动创新悖论与应对方式进行探析。研究发现:①设计驱动创新涌现出组织层面战略聚焦悖论、项目层面内外生的需求悖论以及个人层面的能力倾向悖论。设计咨询公司的业务运作模式、本土化情境中的工作习惯以及快节奏的竞争环境导致设计驱动创新中潜在的悖论张力显著化。②组织中分化策略与整合策略共存,员工采用分化策略建立快速的行动体系,管理者主导整合策略贯彻悖论认知。③从悖论应对的结果来看,公司在内部管理效率和外部客户关系方面表现卓越。本研究丰富了本土情境下的创新研究,为设计驱动创新提供相关管理启示,同时也深化了创造性专业领域内的悖论研究。
Designdriven innovation is an emerging topic in the field of innovation,and semantic innovation makes the innovation process become complex,diverse,and full of competitive demands and contradictions.Based on the theory of paradox management,this paper takes two design consulting companies as the research object,collects case data through indepth interviews,onsite observation,and secondhand data,and uses the grounded theory to analyze the paradoxes and coping strategies of design-driven innovation.The results show that:①Multilevel paradoxes emerge in designdriven innovation.The paradox on the organizational level is about the strategic focus,the paradox on the project level is about the internal and external needs,and the paradox on the individual level is about personal ability.The business operation mode,localized working habits and fastpaced competitive environment of design consulting companies lead to the remarkable tension of potential paradox in designdriven innovation.②Organization members adopt a separation strategy to establish a rapid action system,while managers adopt an integration strategy to implement the paradox cognition.Such kind of responses allows the coexistence of these two different strategies.③In terms of coping with paradoxes,the coexistence strategies lead to excellent performance in internal management efficiency and external customer relations.This study enriches the innovation research in China,provides useful experience for designdriven innovation,and deepens the paradox research in innovation.
