国别与区域研究的学科建设——钱乘旦教授访谈

Academic Development of International and Area Studies:Dialogue with Professor Qian Chengdan

改革开放以来,我国的国别与区域研究不断发展。新文科建设的积极推进为交叉学科的发展提供了机遇,各个学科之间的边界和学科体系中的固态思维模式被逐渐打破,使交叉学科的研究成果有机会在新一轮科技革命和产业变革的进程中发挥促进作用。国别与区域研究具有交叉学科门类的特征,能够弥补长期以来我国学界对域外了解不够深入的情况。如果作为一级学科来建设,既需要足够的现有学科支撑,又需要重新思考研究对象、研究内容、研究方法等方面的交叉,从而设计合理的二级学科框架。同时,国别与区域研究的学科建设还应该涵盖人才培养、平台建设、智库建设、对外交流等重要的具体内容。此外,还应该坚持理论与具体实践相结合,既要向书本学习,又要向社会学习,其中包括向其他国家学习成熟的建设经验,以及在研究对象国、地区进行充分的社会体验与调研,进而培养“既是通才、又是专才”的学术团队,打造有中国特色的优秀学术成果。

Since the reform and opening up,China’s international and area studies have evolved continuously.The active advancement in new liberal arts provides opportunities for developing interdisciplinarity.Boundaries among various disciplines and rigid thinking modes in the disciplinary system have been gradually broken,which makes it possible for the research results of interdisciplinarity to facilitate the new round development of scientific,technological revolution and industrial transformation.International and area studies are characterized by interdisciplinary categories,which can make up for Chinese academics’long-term lack of in-depth understanding of foreign countries.If constructed as a first-level discipline,it needs not only sufficient existing discipline support,but also rethinking the intersection of research objects,content and methods etc.,so as to design a reasonable second-level discipline framework.Meanwhile,the academic development of international and area studies should also consist of important specific content such as talent training,platform building,think tank building,and foreign exchanges.Besides,we should also adhere to the combination of theory and specific practice.We should also learn from both books and the society,including getting mature experience from other countries,and conducting sufficient field work in related countries and regions.As a result,we could cultivate academic teams which are“both generalists and specialists”,and then create outstanding academic accomplishments with Chinese characteristics.
