Building a Big Chinese Family:the Historical Experience of Fostering the Chinese Nation’s Sense of Community by Southwest Bureau of the CPC

习近平总书记关于中华民族大家庭的重要论述,是对中华人民共和国70多年民族关系发展的科学总结和高度凝练,是我们党开展民族工作的重要成就和历史经验。重新梳理和体会中华人民共和国成立初期西南局民族工作,不难发现,“中华民族大家庭”这一理念贯穿于西南局民族工作各领域、全过程,体现于各民族特别是少数民族话语体系以及实际行动。中华人民共和国西南局建设中华民族大家庭的实践,开创了西南民族平等团结的新局面。挖掘关于中华民族大家庭建设的文献资料和历史事实,有利于深化习近平总书记提出的中华民族大家庭这一理念的价值内涵,并且为该理念提供丰富的历史论据,从而推动形成完整的史料体系和话语体系。

General Secretary XI Jin-ping’s important statement on“a big Chinese family”is a scientific summary and highly condensed account of the development of relationship among ethnic groups in 1949 over the past 70 years.It is an important achievement and historical experience of our party in carrying out ethnic work.After reviewing and comprehending the ethnic work of the Southwest Bureau and related historical materials in the early period of the founding of New China,it is not uncommon to find that the concept of“A Big Chinese Family”is found in all areas and processes of the ethnic work of the Southwest Bureau.Meanwhile,it is also reflected in the discourse system and practical actions of all ethnic groups,especially the ethnic minority groups.The practical work of building a big Chinese family by the Southwest Bureau in 1949 has created a new situation of equality and unity in the relationship among ethnic groups in Southwest China,and brought about a major change which has never seen in the history of ethnic relations in Southwest China for thousands of years.Therefore,studying the documents and historical facts about the construction of the big Chinese family in its early period is conducive to deepening the concept of“A Big Chinese Family”proposed by General Secretary XI Jin-ping,providing it with rich historical arguments and forming a complete system of historical materials and discourse.
