Current Situation and Inheritance of the Unique Dragon Boat Festival Customs in Qian County

端午节是中华民族传统节日之一,其名称多样,节俗起源也诸说纷纭。发展至今,纪念屈原已成为国人共识,然而陕西乾县的端午习俗则表现出独特性,与纪念屈原的主题完全相反。乾县的端午习俗在传承过程中日渐衰微。对其式微的原因进行分析,并提出保护与传承习俗的对策。

The Dragon Boat Festival is one of the most important traditional festivals in China.With its varied names, people hold different versions and statements about how it originated. Up to now, the commemoration of Quyuan’s death at the Dragon Boat Festival has been universally recognized by Chinese people. Meanwhile, Qian County in Shannxi Province has its distinctive customs of the Dragon Boat Festival, which is completely contrary to the common theme of the festival. However,it is a great pity that the distinctive customs in Qian County are declining and fading due to inadequate inheritance. If people don’t attach enough importance to it, the unique customs of the Dragon Boat Festival in Qian County may be in danger of disappearing and vanishing, thus causing great damage to the diversification of our national culture. Consequently, the research on what caused the declining of the customs and the countermeasures to address this problem is highly essential and urgent.
