Shanghai Tilan Bridge Historic Area is located in the eastern part of Shanghai Hongkou District, which is the smallest of the 12 historical and cultural areas in Shanghai. During World War II, it received a large number of Jews who fled here, so it is called "Jewish Noah’s Ark". In recent years, with the continuous expansion of cities and the replacement of residents, residents in such residential historical reserves have continuously carried out spontaneous reconstruction and expansion of existing houses, and the living environment has been deteriorating. Based on the research on the characteristics of Shanghai Tilan Bridge Historic Area and the investigation and analysis of the psychological characteristics and living environment of different population structures in the residential area, this paper puts forward targeted protection and renovation strategies, and proposes some feasible suggestions on the specific situation of updating and developing the environment of this area and improving the old and dilapidated houses.
