Objective We continuously improve the management of medical suture with the PDCA cycle,to ensure the rational use of medical suture in clinic. Methods The fishbone diagram was used to analyze the existing problems in the use and management of medical sutures,we put forward corresponding control measures, and analyzing the corresponding control effect. Results After the PDCA cycle method was applied, the total amount of suture used in 2021 decreased by 47.58%compared with 2019 and 2020,of which the total amount of barbed suture decreased by 80.35%,the amount of suture used in each operation per month in 2021 decreased by 60.25%compared with 2019 and 2020,of which the amount of barbed wire used in each operation per month decreased by 85.06%,and the paired sample t test results showed that the average outbound amount of the suture platform before and after the control and the average outbound amount of the barbed line platform were P<0.001,the diffevence was stathstically significant. Conclusion Using PDCA cycle to control the use of medical suture is beneficial to promote the rational use of medical consumables and has important practical significance.
