In the multicultural and multiethnic context of the North America and especially during the Christmas season, the Jewish and the Chinese as two non-Christian groups have together created a Chinese-food festive tradition on the Christmas day, through which they have reconstructed their own individual and ethnic identities. An incisive analysis of the causal factors of this tradition reveals the means and approaches creatively adopted by different ethnic groups in their dealing with identity dilemmas and worries through their daily cultural interaction on the basis of their own identity, which helps reveal better the means and approaches for effective cross-cultural communication.
