Autophagy is an effective and reasonable metabolic pathway to use lysosome to digest damaged organelles, aging and denaturation of macromolecul within the cell.It is also an important biological mechanism for cells to maintain their normal structure and metabolic function stability.Aging is characterized by reduced or insufficient autophagy effect, which can lead to abnormal autophagy in patients with senile diseases.Autophagy imbalance is closely related to human aging and the occurrence and development of some senile diseases. The intervention of autophagy might slow down then aging process and progress, and has positive significance in the prevention and control of the senile diseases.
