Since modern times, western explorers have been traveling in the Amdo area of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in an endless flow. They have investigated the ecological environment and cultural customs, and written travelogues vividly from the perspective of anthropology and ethnography.Among them, they have also mapped the habits and rules of ecological protection of the Tibetan people in the Amdo area.Taking the travel notes of modern western explorers in the Amdo area as the objects of investigation, the paper probes into the concepts and habits of Tibetan ecological protection perceived by the explorers as"others"with the anthropological methods and explains the customs and rules of Tibetan ecological protection from a comparative perspective.
