展览会与社会教育空间营造——以浙江省立民众教育馆为中心

Exhibition and Social Education Space Construction:Centered on Zhejiang Provincial Mass Education Bureau

展览会作为近代中国舶来事物,其“寓教于展”的社会功能备受社会各界重视。南京国民政府成立后,以行政力对展览会作了制度安排,陈列展览成为社会教育机构的固定工作。在西湖博览会成功启示下,1929年10月开馆的浙江省立民众教育馆将展览会纳入常规事业,吸引了广大市民前去观展。教育馆举办的一系列展览会,体现出社会教育与杭州城市社会在风俗改良、现代科学知识供给、国际形势、文化娱乐乃至政治行动等领域的多重互动,揭示了民众教育馆事业发展与城市现代化之间的内在统一性,搭建了向民众传播通俗常识的空间场域。

Exhibition,as an imported object in modern China,its social function of"education in the exhibition"has been paid attention to by all walks of life.After the establishment of Nanjing National Government,exhibitions became a standard component of the work of social education institutions,with state authorities supporting the institutionalized arrangement.Inspired by the success of the West Lake Expo,the Zhejiang Provincial Mass Education Bureaus,which opened in October 1929,incorporated exhibitions into its business routine and attracted the general public to visit the exhibition.The Bureau's series of exhibitions reflected the multiple interactions between social education and Hangzhou's urban society in such areas as the improvement of customs,the supply of modern scientific knowledge,the knowledge of the international situation,cultural entertainment,and even political action.It revealed the inherent unity between the development of mass education bureaus and the modernization of the city by establishing a spatial field for disseminating general knowledge to the public.
