摘要
《造人术》是鲁迅最早翻译的西方科幻小说之一。2012年,香港《译丛》将鲁迅《造人术》作为中国科幻小说的先驱之作译介给西方读者。《译丛》英语译介的“译作之译作”《造人术》是深度翻译的结果:译文还原了鲁迅汉译文本的语体风格,更在“译者导言”、插图、鲁迅汉译按语等副文本的综合推介作用下,协助西方读者对英译鲁迅《造人术》进行全面认知。经历了美国英语小说原作的日译、汉译,《译丛》又将其回译成英文,完成了小说《一个非科学故事》(《造人术》)的“世界文学”翻译轮回。
Zao Ren Shu(The Art of Creating Humanity)is one of the first translations of western science fictions by Lu Xun.In 2012,Hong Kong Renditions translated Lu’s Zao Ren Shu,one of the pioneering Chinese science fiction masterpiece,for the Western readers.Renditions’English renderings of Zao Ren Shu,which is the translation of a translation,is the product of deep translation:not only the language style of Lu’s Chinese translation has been successfully conveyed,but also the western readers’overall understanding of Lu’s Zao Ren Shu has been facilitated by means of“translator’s note”,illustrations and translations of original comments of Zao Ren Shu.From the English original fiction to its Japanese and Chinese translation,and to English re-translation by Hong Kong Renditions,An Unscientific Story(Zao Ren Shu;The Art of Creating Humanity)has fulfilled the transmigration of translation in“world literature”.
