摘要
本文从认知思维的角度出发,分析了英语植物词汇的隐喻认知意义,总结归纳出植物隐喻的三种基本形式:名词隐喻、动词隐喻和名词转动词隐喻,说明了隐喻的生成和理解来自于人们对世界的认知方式和过程,反映了语言与人类思维、认知的关系,阐明了隐喻从本质上来说是一种认知活动这一理念.
Starting from the cognitive characteristic of metaphors, this paper attempts at an analysis of conceptual metaphors of English plant terms and classifies 3 types of plant metaphors: NP metaphors, VP metaphors and NP VP metaphors. This analysis further shows that metaphors reflects the cognitive process of mankind and is basically a cognitive phenomenon.
