Objective To explore the correlation between serum 25 hydroxyvitamin D[25(OH)D]level and metabolic syndrome(MS)in obese male patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods 114 obese male T2DM patients with MS admitted to our hospital from April 2018 to December 2020 were selected as the observation group.Another 114 obese male T2DM patients admitted to our hospital during the same period were selected as the control group. The baseline data of the two groups were counted, the serum 25(OH)D levels of the two groups were detected before treatment, and the correlation between serum 25(OH)D level and obese male T2DM patients with MS was analyzed. Results No statistical difference was found in the age, fasting blood glucose and 2-hour postprandial blood glucose between the two groups(P>0.05).The body mass index(BMI)of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the serum 25(OH)D level was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that high BMI and low serum 25(OH)D level were the influencing factors of obese male T2DM patients with MS(OR>1,P<0.05).Conclusions Serum 25(OH)D level is closely related to obese male T2DM patients with MS.The lower the serum 25(OH)D level, the more likely obese male T2DM patients are to be complicated with MS.
