The Inter-textual Effect of Grammatical Metaphor on the Nominalization in Maritime English from the Perspective of Systemic Functional Linguistics

系统功能语言学着眼于语言的功能性,并确定了语法隐喻这一关键语言工具。语法隐喻对航海英语名词化产生互文作用,互文动态名词组在语法隐喻作用下通过词汇链接激活了远超出文本本身的信息。互文类型分为显性和隐性两种,显性互文动态名词组使文本与之前内容相结合,而隐性动态名词组则使文本具有语域和主题的背景知识。互文机制实现了航海学术文本的凝聚力。

Systemic Functional Linguistics focuses on the function of language and defines grammatical metaphor as a key language tool.Grammatical metaphor has an inter-textual effect on the nominalization in maritime English.Under the effect of grammatical metaphor,inter-textual dynamic noun phrases can generate messages beyond the literal meaning of the text itself via word links.There are explicit and implicit inter-textual dynamic noun phrases,the former pointing to a certain information source in the preceding text and the latter offering the background knowledge of register and subject about the text.
