1 History of the Institute of Energy Process Engineering and Chemical Engineering(IEC)The history of IEC dates back to 1918,when the Lignite Foundation of the State of Saxony was founded to develop pro-cesses and technologies for lignite utilization in Saxony.In 1919,the precursor department of IEC with a focus on the thermochemical conversion of lignite was established.
