Rational Thinking:Analysis of Western Celestial Art Creations

本文以时间线索对西方美术史中有关星空题材作品进行梳理,可以看出无论是早期的神话主题、宗教主题,还是结合天文科学进行的艺术创作,作品无不反映出画家在理性认知的基础上展开多维的宇宙想象并呈现出鲜明的时代精神。对于宇宙、自然的理性表现与认知是西方不同时期画家们一个重要的创作题材与艺术理念。

In this paper,works related to the starry sky in the history of Western art have been sorted out chronologically.It can be found that the artists’ multi-dimensional imagination of the universe and their reflections of the distinct spirit of the times can be sensed in both early mythology-and religion-based paintings and those astronomy-associated artistic works.The rational expression and cognition of the universe and nature appear to be key creative themes and artistic concepts for Western painters over different periods.
