The quality of Petroleum Products is related to the safety of petroleum production and people’s lives.Only by ensuring the quality of petroleum products can we provide a good impetus for the national economic construction and social development,to promote sustainable social and economic development in China.As one of the most important indexes to evaluate the quality of petroleum products,flash point is the object we focus on.As a parameter characterizing the combustion of petroleum products,flash point is of great significance in the storage and transportation of petroleum products.This paper mainly expounds the detection significance,detection method,detection principle and main factors affecting the accuracy of flash point determination of petroleum products by open-cup and closed-cup flash point methods,including the choice of instrument for determination of lash point,the composition of samples,sampling and preservation,ignition,heating,environment,as well as the matters needing attention in instrument determination,and analyzes and determines the best conditions for determination of flash point.
