An International Case Study on Accreditation Criteria for Engineering Programs

工程教育专业认证标准受科技发展、产业变革、工程师职业要求变化、国家和地区教育政策等多种因素影响。以分别位于欧洲、北美洲、大洋洲和亚洲的《华盛顿协议》四个成员国——爱尔兰、美国、澳大利亚、日本的工程教育专业认证通用标准为研究样本,基于标准的内涵逻辑与实施程序,剖析各成员组织认证标准的共性与差异,从层次结构调整、内容更新、实施程序优化三个维度,探讨对我国未来专业认证标准改革与创新的参考价值。

The accreditation criteria for engineering education programs are influenced by various factors such as the development of science and technology,industrial transformations,the change of requirements of professional engineers,national and regional education policies and so on.Taking the general criteria for accrediting engineering education programs in four member countries of the Washington Agreement in Europe,North America,Oceania and Asia:Ireland,the United States,Australia and Japan as research samples,based on the connotation logic and implementation procedures of the criteria,this paper analyzes the similarities and differences of the accreditation criteria of each member organization from the three aspects of hierarchical structures,content updating and implementation procedures to explore the reference value for the reform and innovation of accreditation criteria for engineering education programs in China in the future.
