基于语料库的博物馆外宣英译研究——以洛阳博物馆为例

文章以语料库为基础,自建洛阳博物馆(以下简称洛博)双语语料库,对洛博展品名称英译现状进行研究和分析,发现洛博容器类展品的英译存在误译、核心词或同一修饰成分的多版本译法、音译铭文的局限性、译文书写不规范等问题,并尝试从服务游客的角度提出改译建议,以期为洛阳市文博类外宣英译提供有效参考,助力洛阳市打造国际人文交往中心和国际文化旅游名城,提升河南省的对外形象。

Based on the bilingual corpus built by the study team for Luoyang Museum,this paper tries to find out the present situation of the C-E translation of Luoyang Museum’s exhibits.Problems,such as the wrong translation of the exhibits,multiple translation versions of core words and modifiers,the shortcomings of transliteration for inscriptions of the exhibits,the nonstandard writing of translation and so on,have been found and revision suggestions are promoted for the sake of foreign visitors.The study is expected to contribute to the museum publicity of Luoyang,the construction of Luoyang as the center of international cultural exchange and the international tourist city,and the improvement of the external image of Henan province.
