An Interpretation of Female Pioneers in My Antonia from the Perspective of Growth:Take the Heroine Antonia as an Example

成长小说在美国文学中占据着重要地位,以成长小说的视角来解读美国著名女作家薇拉·凯瑟的《我的安东尼亚》中女主人公安东尼亚,分析她作为一位女性拓荒者如何在大草原恶劣的自然环境下,在精神世界和伦理道德等方面完成了从懵懂少女到成熟女性的转变,最终情感趋于成熟,实现了自我成长。从成长视角来分析安东尼亚对于研究女性在家庭和社会等各方面的成长具有一定的借鉴意义。

Bildungsroman occupies an important position in American literature. From the perspective of Bildungsroman,this paper interprets the heroine Anthony in My Antonia by the famous American female writer Willa Cather,and analyzes how she,as a female pioneer,has completed the transformation from an ignorant girl to a mature woman in the spiritual world and ethics under the harsh natural environment of the prairie,and finally realized emotional maturity and self-growth. The analysis of Anthony from the perspective of growth has certain reference significance for studying women’s growth in family and society.
