系统边界问题是系统实在论者与系统建构论者争论的难题之一,尤其关于人类活动系统的边界,系统实在论者的独立观察假设不断受到挑战。当代系统建构论者米德格雷基于过程哲学,提出系统干预方法论,尝试超越传统主客体二元论的困境,其核心概念是边界判定,倡导以批判方式建构人类活动系统边界,以达到对问题情景理解的可持续改善。米德格雷采用过程哲学路径的特殊价值在于将非人类现象与主体的互动也纳入边界判定之中。然而,米德格雷只强调边界判定以“过程”为对象,或者过程哲学可以帮助保持批判性,而缺乏从事件解释-因果效验-客观建构的内在逻辑去深入分析系统干预方法论的哲学根基。

The problem of system boundary is one of the difficult problems in the debate between system realists and system constructivists.Especially regarding the boundary of human activity systems,the independent observation hypothesis of system realists is constantly being challenged.Gerald Midgley,the contemporary system constructivist,puts forward the systemic intervention methodology based on process philosophy,trying to transcend the dilemma of traditional subject-object dualism.The key concept of systemic intervention is boundary judgment which focuses on critical constructions of the boundary of human activity systems in order to improve the understanding of the problem situation continuously.The special value of the process philosophy approach is to include the interaction of non-human phenomena and the human activity into the boundary judgment.However,Midgley only emphasizes that the boundary judgment takes“process”as the object,but lacks deeply analyzing the philosophical foundation of systemic intervention methodology based on the internal logic of event-causal efficacy-objective construction deeply.
