探讨英语报刊在英语专业泛读教学中的作用和实施

英语泛读课是《高等学校英语专业英语教学大纲》规定的必修课程,但授课不应局限于教材。文章探讨了英语报刊作为实施教学的重要辅助资源,具有时效性、表达地道、话题新颖等特点,其应用可以直接有效地拓宽学生的知识面、提高外刊阅读理解能力和自主学习能力。教师将英语报刊引入课堂教学,构建相应的教学模式,整合教学策略,可以最大限度地优化课程。

English Extensive Reading,a compulsory course specified in English Teaching Syllabus for English Majors,cannot be limited to textbooks.This paper discusses that application of English newspapers and periodicals,crucial sources for teaching,characterized with time efficiency,idiomaticity and novel ideas,can effectively broaden students’scope of knowledge,as well as improve their reading,comprehension and autonomous learning ability.English Extensive Reading can be optimized to a large extent if lecturers introduce English newspapers and periodicals,construct corresponding teaching models and integrate teaching strategies.
