摘要
西安市招商引资材料旨在让更多外商关注、了解、信任西安,参与到大西安的建设中来。然而由于国际读者地理距离遥远,缺乏历史文化背景,直译会造成语境缺失,从而造成认知困难,难以引发阅读兴趣和情感关注,难以实现招商引资目标。鉴于此,文章从关联理论最佳关联角度出发,基于对西安招商引资材料各部分文本的功能分析,面向投资者,提出针对翻译难点的改译方案,旨在搭建认知桥梁,形成最佳关联,最大程度上呼唤共鸣。
Investment promotion materials of Xi’an introduce the city and its business climate, which have been highlighted and asked to be translated in an effort to grab more foreign investors’ attention and convince them of the city’s potential value in investment, thus to attract foreign investment and promote local economic development. Nevertheless, due to geographical distances and the lack of historical and cultural background on the part of the international readers, literal translation of investment promotion materials leads to insufficiency in context and may trigger impediment in cognition and thus antipathy. In the context of the relevance theory and based on text analysis, this paper proposes approaches to the translation problems to build the cognitive bridge to achieve optimal relevance.
