流行叙事中的智能高等教育及其“神话学”批判

Dismantling the“Intelligent Higher Education”Myth in Popular Discourse:A Semiotic Analysis

在话语层面上,人工智能引发高等教育革命的种种言说建构出一个智能高等教育“神话”,其原因在于智能高等教育背后存在的流行叙事机制。流行叙事作为一种力量,能够影响甚至支配人们的价值取向与言行方式。基于多重主客观原因,人工智能重塑高等教育成为一种流行叙事,并促使其最终成为一个“神话”。智能高等教育“神话”遮蔽了当前中国高等教育改革发展中的本质问题,并对高等教育改革具有潜在的负面作用。因此,借助“神话学”符号分析理论,揭示智能高等教育“神话”的本质,是高等教育有效改革和实现内涵式发展的重要前提。

Artificial intelligence(AI)has the potential to revolutionize education.Numerous misconceptions about this emerging technology are spreading unchecked,mainly due to the enormous power of popular discourse to shape or even control our attitudes,values and behaviors.Among those misconceptions,the“intelligent higher education”myth,which regards AI as a cure-all solution to the problems in China’s higher education today,is especially problematic,because it distracts us from the real issues plaguing our education system,and undermines the necessity of a radical education reform as well.Therefore,based on Roland Barthes’theory of myth as a semiological system,this paper is to dismantle the“intelligent higher education”in popular discourse so as to promote reform and development of higher education in China.
