This paper takes the envi ronmental conservation and expansion of the heritage building"SHIZIKOU"on Cang Street,Suzhou,designed by Lacime,as a point of departure.From the perspective of Genius Loci,this paper seeks positive strategies for the protection and COntinuation of the site。S historical memory frOm five levels-space,form,material,structure,and function.Through a series of operations,it emphasizes the perception in space and the continuity of the physical self in time and space,integrating history with the p resent,realizing the revival of the place.
