On the Evolution of the Party’s Thought on Modernization

现代化是世界性命题,也是尚待完成的事业。百年来,一代又一代中国共产党人不断构建中国现代化,形成中国特色现代化思想。中国共产党带领人民通过革命建立新政权、为现代化锻造必要前提,是中国共产党现代化思想的发韧。新中国成立以来,在几代中央领导集体接续奋斗下,从注重工业化到“四个现代化”,从“中国式的现代化”到“国家治理体系和治理能力现代化”、“中国式现代化新道路”,中国共产党现代化思想一步步建构、丰富,既一脉相承又创新发展。

Modernization is a global question and a task yet to be fulfilled for the Party. Over the past hundred years, generations of Chinese Communists have endeavored to build China’s modernization, giving shape to the thought on modernization with Chinese characteristics. It began to burgeon as the Party led Chinese people to establish a new government through revolution and forge the prerequisites for China’s modernization. Ever since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, thanks to the continuous endeavors by generations of the central Party leadership, it has taken shape, kept developing and getting enriched, evolving from highlighting only on industrialization to the“Four Modernizations”, from a“Chinese modernization”to the“modernization of China’s system and capacity for governance”, and a“new path to China’s modernization”.
