明代中篇传奇小说,指的是明代文言小说中篇幅在两万字左右的作品。依据其问世时间和风格流变,可大体分为三个阶段:李昌祺《贾云华还魂记》代表第一个阶段;《钟情丽集》《龙会兰池录》《双卿笔记》《丽史》《怀春雅集》等代表第二个阶段,通俗化趋势日益显著;嘉靖、万历间的《花神三妙传》等代表第三个阶段,一部分作品的色情描写更加放肆,另一部分作品则致力于净化色情,形成了两极分化的态势。中篇传奇小说发轫于元代宋梅洞的《娇红记》,其题材处理、人物刻画的路数与《西厢记诸宫调》相近;作为流行于市井的通俗读物,其审美品格与民间的说唱文学相近,深刻影响了明中叶后的艳情小说、世情小说和才子佳人小说。

Medium-length Chuan Qi in Ming Dynasty refers to the works with a length of about 20000 words in the classical Chinese novels of Ming Dynasty.According to their appearance time and style evolution,it can be roughly divided into three stages.Li Changqi’s Jia Yunhua Huan Hun Ji represents the first stage.The second stage is represented by Zhong Qing Li Ji,Long Hui Lan Chi Lu,Shuang Qing Bi Ji,Li Shi and Huai Chun Ya Ji.At this stage,the popularization trend of the medium-length Chuan Qi was becoming increasingly apparent.Some works created in the era of Jiajing and Wanli such as Hua Shen San Miao Zhuan represent the third stage.At this stage,the pornographic descriptions of some works were more presumptuous,while the others were devoted to purifying pornography,forming a polarization situation.Medium-length Chuan Qi originated from Song Meidong’s Jiao Hong Ji in Yuan Dynasty,and its subject matter treatment and characterization methods are similar to those in Xi Xiang Ji Zhu Gong Diao.As a popular reading material which is popular in the town,its aesthetic character is similar to that of folk rap literature,which has a profound impact on the erotic novels,realistic novels and gifted scholar and beautiful woman novels after the mid-Ming Dynasty.
