程颐易学“因象明理”论阐微

Study on the Theory of"Yin Xiang Ming Li"in Cheng Yi’s Yi-ology

“因象明理”是程颐援理学入易学、融易学与理学为一炉的经典观点。“因象明理”论所蕴含的因《易》之事境以求理境是程颐易学的精神旨趣所在,借由精神之运、心术之动的方法贯通观《易》与体《易》正是实现由象到理的关键,其本质则是将人心转化为道心。程颐易学中的精神之运、心术之动与程颐理学中的反躬是一致的。程颐除了开辟出大易理境和《易》之磨砻工夫之外,更对《周易》卦爻解释体系进行了别出心裁的创设。

A classic viewpoint of Cheng Yi’s in introducing Neo-Confucianism to Yi studies and integrating Yi studies with Neo-Confucianism is"yin xiang ming li"(basically meaning"to figure out rational principle or meaning from images").By analyzing the thought of"yin xiang ming li"in Cheng Yi’s Yi studies,we can hopefully reveal the path along which Cheng Yi’s Yi studies revealed the consistency of heaven and human.The spiritual purport of Cheng Yi’s Yi studies lies in the notion"to arrive at the rational realm of Neo-Confucianism from the matter-of-fact situation of Yi-ology"implied in his theory of"yin xiang ming li".To link the observation of Yi-ology and the perception of Yi-ology by means of spiritual movement and mental operation is the key to realizing"the cognition from image to rational principle or meaning".Its essence is to transform a human mind into a Taoist mind.The spiritual movement and mental operation in Cheng Yi’s Yi studies are consistent with"fan gong"(the self-examination or self-discipline)in his Neo-Confucianism.Cheng Yi not only opened up the realm of Neo-Confucianism in the grand principle of Yi-ology and the detailed elaboration of Yi,but also created the interpretation system of the hexagrams and lines in Zhouyi(the Book of Changes).
