Research Characteristics and Development Trends of Constitutive Rhetoric

本文重点探索建构修辞(constitutive rhetoric)研究的特征及其发展新趋向。研究发现:建构修辞研究有其缘自于古希腊修辞的悠久传统,并在20世纪的修辞学复兴运动以及21世纪当代修辞学的跨学科交融中获得进一步发展的机会。建构修辞研究具有彰显叙事、关注社会公共领域、凸显修辞创造功能的特征。正在形成关注边缘群体、文本外因素、当代新技术以及情感转向等新的研究焦点。其跨学科性进一步强化了参与社会变革的学术理想。在当今全球思想竞争的态势下,建构修辞研究将得到进一步的重视。

This paper attempts to explore the research characteristics and development trends of constitutive rhetoric.The study yielded the following findings:1)constitutive rhetoric,with a long history originated from ancient Greek rhetoric,has the opportunity for further development in the rhetoric revival movement of the 20 th century and in the interdisciplinary studies of the 21 st century.Now it has the research characteristics of giving prominence to the narrative pattern,paying more attention to the social public sphere,and highlighting the creative function of rhetoric;2)the new research focus are given to the rhetoric of the marginalized groups,the extra-text elements,contemporary new technology,and the affective turn,which further strengthen the interdisciplinarity of constitutive rhetoric and its pursuit of participating in social change.In conclusion,the paper believes that constitutive rhetoric will be taken more seriously under the situation of global competition for ideas.
