黄楼是苏轼知徐州时期建造的一座名楼。苏轼兴建黄楼最主要的目的是加固城防、抵御水患,同时也是纪念抗洪胜利。黄楼建成后,历经种种磨难,曾一次改名,两次迁址,多次重建和重修,饱经风霜,历久弥坚,现已成为徐州市最重要的文化地标之一。经过近千年积累和发酵,黄楼所承载的精神内涵已经远远超出其建筑实体本身,而具有多重文化象征意义。

Huang Lou was a famous building built in the period when Su Shi was an official in Xuzhou.The main purpose of Su Shi’s construction of Huang Lou was to strengthen urban defense and resist flood,and also to commemorate the victory of flood fighting.After the completion of Huang Lou,after various hardships,it was renamed once,relocated twice,rebuilt many times.It has been weathered for a long time and has become one of the most important cultural landmarks in Xuzhou.After nearly a thousand years of accumulation and fermentation,the spiritual connotation of Huang Lou has gone far beyond the architectural entity itself,with multi-cultural symbolic significance.
