Experience of PEI Ruixia in Treating Diabetes Mellitus Complicated with Depression from Liver

裴瑞霞老师认为消渴和郁证的发病都与肝密切相关:消渴是由肝与其他脏腑相互为用、相互制约的关系失常而导致,郁证是由其他因素作用于肝或肝本身的虚实病变而导致。消渴与郁证合病后相互影响,互为致病因素,影响各个脏腑。因此,裴老师注重从肝论治消渴合并郁证,在兼顾消渴阴虚燥热的基础上,辨证应用疏肝、清肝、平肝之法。疏肝采用柴胡疏肝散加减,清肝采用丹栀逍遥散加减,平肝采用六味地黄汤加减。

Professor PEI Ruixia believes that the occurrence of diabetes mellitus and depression are closely related to the liver:Diabetes mellitus is caused by the abnormality of mutual use and restriction relationship between the liver and other viscus,while depression is caused by the deficient and excess hepatic lesions or the effect of other factors on the liver.After the two diseases combined,they can influence each other as pathogenic factors and affect every viscus.Therefore,in the treatment of diabetes mellitus complicated with depression,Professor PEI lays emphasis on the liver.Giving consideration to yin deficiency with dryness-heat of diabetes mellitus,she applies the methods of soothing the liver,clearing the liver and pacifying the liver on the basis of syndrome differentiation.For soothing the liver,she uses modified Chaihu Shugan Powder(柴胡疏肝散).For clearing the liver,she uses modified Danzhi Xiaoyao Power(丹栀逍遥散).For pacifying the liver,she uses Liuwei Dihuang Decoction(六味地黄汤).
