Comparing the two versions of curriculum guidelines for"liberal studies"and"civil and social development studies"in Hong Kong high schools,it is found that the Civil and Social Development Curriculum Guide have distinctive characteristics in terms of curriculum objectives,content,implementation suggestions and evaluation.Facing with curriculum reform,teachers of civil and social development studies should master the curriculum guidelines and formulate appropriate teaching goal system;make good use of textbooks and strengthen the suitability of learning content;implement inquiry learning and pay attention to the guidance of positive values;take root in the homeland and expand the time and space of national education;pay attention to developmental evaluation and promote students’learning.
