The new Resource Description and Access(RDA)Toolkit has added a new concept“representative expression”,and opened up a section in the“Guidance”part to make systematic provisions on the relevant rules.This paper introduces the origin,concept,cataloging principles of“representative expression”,and its implementation in cataloging format.This article aims to conduct a more comprehensive theoretical discussion on representative expression,and provides reference for the implementation of the new concept.
