Objective To investigate and analyze the understanding of combat casualty care skills and related factors among medical sergeants serving in the destroyer and frigate force,so as to provide reference for the implementation of relevant training. Methods The convenient sampling method was used to recruit medical sergeants in the destroyer and frigate force from July to December,2020.The self-designed questionnaire forms were issued and 63 valid forms were collected for statistical analysis. Results In terms of the scores of medical sergeants’familiarity with combat casualty care skills, the top 5 modules were:monitoring, fixation, dressing, handling and surgical assistance. The scores of necessity of all modules were significantly higher than those of familiarity(all P<0.05).The scores of familiarity in combat casualty care skill were directly correlated with such factors as educational background, years of service, working experience onboard and experience of major medical support missions. Conclusion There are differences in the understanding of the familiarity and necessity of combat casualty care skill in medical sergeants.Superior department or administration should pay attention to relevant factors, and take targeted measures, such as job rotation and promotion of educational background,so as to further enhance their level of combat casualty care skills.
