摘要
本文以英语作为通用语的视角,以问卷调查、教师采访和课堂观察相结合的方式对高校英语教师的语言意识与语言教学观进行了实证研究。研究发现,参与教师的标准英语意识仍根深蒂固,基于英语本族语规范的教学模式亦普遍存在。与此同时,绝大多数教师对英语本族语的语言输出持怀疑态度。研究指出,在全球化进程中,中国的英语教育应正视英语作为通用语的社会语言学现实,对“英语”进行重新定义,并树立与之相对应的语言意识与语言教学观。
The author has made an empirical study on language awareness and language teaching of English teachers working in parts of the universities in China from an ELF perspective through the combination of questionnaire,teacher interview and classroom observation.It is found that most of the teacher participants still hold strong standard English ideology,and their classroom teaching are still modeling on native English speakers’ norms.In the meanwhile,most of them were hesitated about non-native like Englishes.It suggests that English teaching in China’s education should be realized that the sociolinguistic reality that English has been used as a lingua franca,and should be re-conceptualized the meaning of “English” in the process of globalization,and the corresponding language awareness and beliefs about language teaching should be established as well.
