This paper reviews the literature and summarizes the understanding of traditional Chinese and Western Medicine on venous catheter-related phlebitis,including the understanding of traditional Chinese medicine on phlebitis and the thinking of syndrome differentiation and treatment,western medicine theory,such as drug stimulation factors,infusion volume and infusion speed factors,nurse operation factors,etc..The commonly used TCM treatment methods and drugs are listed with a prospect of helping clinical understanding of phlebitis clinical research of traditional Chinese medicine.
