This paper investigates the service programs in university libraries in Western countries,analyzes and discusses the service contents and realization paths for university libraries in China to improve research social impact.The construction of service content can start from enhancing the social value of the topic,promoting the diversification of academic communication,encouraging the popularization of research outcomes,etc.The realization paths for service can include grasping the opportunity of the reform of research evaluation,meeting the users'new needs under the reform,constructing research impact promotion service team,etc.
