语用身份论视角下英语演讲者身份建构研究——以TED演讲为例

Pragmatic Identity Construction of English Public Speakers Based on Identity Theory-A Case Study of TED Speeches

语用身份论的提出基于身份研究的“建构主义”视角,强调交际者身份为顺应交际目的具有动态性、多变性和可协商性的特点。以语用身份论为指导,探究TED英语演讲者身份类型、分布情况和话语策略。研究结果显示,演讲者除了其默认身份,还建构多种变异身份类型,并采用显性、隐性和认同三种话语策略推动身份在交际语境中的动态性、修辞性和顺应性。这为英语演讲话语分析研究提供新的视角,也为培养中国学生英语演讲语用能力提供启示。

From the perspective of Constructivism,pragmatic identity theory proposes that the interactors'identities are dynamic,changeable and negotiable in accordance with communicative purposes.This study investigates TED speakers'identity categories and construction strategies within the framework of pragmatic identity theory.The results show that besides default identity,speakers construct other deviational identities through the foregrounding,the shadowing and the identifying strategies to reach communicative goals,which indicates dynamic,rhetoric and adaptable features of pragmatic identities.This provides deep insight for discourse analysis of English speeches and for the development of Chinese students'English pragmatic abilities.
