LIU Lu-ming's prescription strategy in the treatment of pancreatic cancer ascites

刘鲁明教授治疗胰腺癌腹水以清热化湿立法,临证具有重投寒凉,佐以辛温的处方特色,体现寒热并用,相制相成之意;常配伍大腹皮、枳壳、茯苓、泽泻、车前子诸味,既可化气行水,又能起引经入腹之效,是为佐使之用。刘教授治疗胰腺癌腹水的处方策略承前贤“真阴常不足,阳非常有余”的辨证思路,施药“清热以坚真阴,化湿以通元阳”,从而实现水消土长,脾肾健运之目的,临床获效验案颇多。

Professor LIU Lu-ming advocates the treatment of ascites induced by pancreatic cancer based on the principle of clearing away heat and dampness. His prescription always consists of a large number of cold and cool herbs, combined with pungent and warm ones, which reflects the combination of cold and heat, and the meaning of mutual control. It is often combined with Pericarpium Arecae, Fructus Aurantii, Poria, Rhizoma Alismatis, and Semen Plantaginis, which can not only transform qi and move water, but also induce meridians to enter the abdomen. This is an auxiliary usage. The professor’s strategy to manage ascitic fluid induced by pancreatic cancer follows the idea that ‘vital-yin is often insufficient, while pathogenic-yang is often abundant’described primarily in the past dynasty. The application of medicine ‘clears heat to strengthen true yin, and dispels dampness to unblock yang’, so as to achieve the purpose of removing ascitic fluid and strengthening the movement of spleen and kidney. There are many cases of clinical efficacy.
