Linda Hogan’s ecosickness fiction, Solar Storms, focuses on the human-environment relationship and suggests that only by acquiring the materiality of non-human beings can people understand the embodied existence of the wilderness and feel for non-humans in ways which allow the age-old pact between humans and nonhumans and cure the sickness that the human body suffers as a result of environmental damage. Based on Native Americans’ wisdom of survival, Hogan’s writing presents an effective way to establish the body-earth interconnectedness and save the human body from environmental threats.
