Genital Chlamydia trachomatis infection is one of the common sexually transmitted diseases,the incidence and prevalence of which are increasing year by year in China.Sexually active people,Men who have sex with men,and sexual workers are high-risk populations of genital Chlamydia trachomatis infection.Genital Chlamydia trachomatis infection can lead to adverse outcomes such as infertility,pelvic inflammation,urethritis,premature birth and stillbirth,etc.Early detection and treatment are the keys to prevent adverse outcomes.The adverse outcomes and preventive measures of genital Chlamydia trachomatis infection are reviewed in this article.
