Development Status and Key Strategies of Carbon Neutrality in China

摘要 中国目前是世界上最大的CO_(2)排放国。因此,中国在减缓全球气候变化方面发挥着关键作用。在这一视角下,我们总结了中国CO_(2)排放现状和低碳发展方面取得的成就。中国的CO_(2)排放量大幅减少,这依赖于中国五年计划中各级政府部门减排目标的实现。中国实现碳中和的关键举措包括:加大煤炭淘汰力度,进一步提高非化石能源占一次能源比重,继续增加核电装机容量;大规模推广植树造林、回收利用建筑材料以及CCUS等负吸收技术;编制长期的城市尺度温室气体排放清单,科学制定碳排放强度降低目标;建立完善覆盖全国的绿色金融市场。 China is currently the world’s largest emitter of CO_(2). China therefore has a key role in global climate change mitigation. In this perspective, this paper summarized the status of China’s CO_(2)emissions and its successes in low carbon development. China’s CO_(2)emissions reductions have been substantial, which rely on the achievements of reduction targets of government at all levels outlined by China’s Five-Year Plans. Key initiatives towards China’s carbon neutrality include: phasing out coal consummation, increasing the share of non-fossil consumption as part of the total primary energy consumption and nuclear power generation capacity;achieving negativing negative emissions from afforestation, recycling construction materials and CCUS, developing long-term city-level emission inventories and scientifically setting target for reducing carbon emission intensity, and establishing a nationwide green market.
