中国哲学史学科从建立伊始就离不开比较哲学的视野,中国哲学问题的研究一直是在比较哲学视角当中展开并深入的。陈来的中国哲学史研究和哲学思想体系试图在比较哲学、比较思想和比较文化的历史性境遇中,既突破前人对具体哲学问题的研究成果,又彰显中国传统哲学命题的哲学意味、现代价值与理论深度。在长期的中国哲学史研究过程中,陈来一直自觉保持着清晰的比较哲学问题意识。他的比较哲学视野最初体现在关于朱熹理气论的研究中,借助柏拉图理型论及分有、分离、动静问题和亚里士多德四因说、不动的动者的思想来进行比较分析。他在关于王阳明哲学等多部专著里充分贯彻了中西比较哲学研究方法,并在古代宗教与伦理、中国近现代哲学与中西文化论争、中华文明的核心价值等哲学专题研究和建立“仁学本体论”哲学体系的过程中,自觉地运用比较哲学问题意识来全方位深化迄今为止的中国哲学问题研究。陈来不但把比较哲学问题意识确立成为中国哲学史学科的研究基础,而且通过“即哲学史而写哲学”,建立了中国哲学研究中的比较哲学研究范式。

Historically,the modern academic discipline of Chinese philosophy came into being under the influence of Western philosophy.Therefore,research on Chinese philosophy has been developed through the perspective of comparative philosophy.Chen Lai's research on Chinese philosophy and his construction of a philosophical system aims to make some contributions in researching some specific Chinese philosophical problems,and manifest the philosophical sensibility,modern values as well as theoretical significance of traditional Chinese philosophical topics from the perspectives of comparative studies on philosophy,ideas and cultures.Through his long research career in the field of Chinese philosophy,Chen has always maintained a sensibility of comparative philosophy in his research.At the beginning,when he began his research on the relationship between pattern(Li理)and spirit-matter(Qi气)in Zhu Xi,Chen applied comparative analysis by comparing Zhu Xi's thought with Platonic Ideas and Aristotle’s theories of the Four Causes,Unmoved Mover,etc.In his many scholarly achievements,such as his research on Wang Yangming,he fully developed his methodology of comparative philosophy,and he continued to apply a comparative perspective in his research on ancient Chinese religion and ethics,modern Chinese philosophy and the debates on Chinese and Western cultures,the core values of ancient Chinese civilization,as well as his construction of a philosophical system based on Confucian co-humanity(Ren仁)etc.In short,Chen has maintained a strong sensibility of comparative philosophy throughout his great contributions to research on Chinese philosophy.Chen not only took the sensibility of comparative philosophy as the research foundation for the discipline of Chinese philosophical research,but also established a research paradigm of comparative philosophical research in the field of Chinese philosophy.
