博士生公共英语课程教学路径——学术思辨英语语言能力的培养

On Cultivation of the Critical Academic English Ability in the English Course Designed for Doctoral Students

本文在调查问卷、访谈以及文本分析的基础上,从需求分析的角度揭示了高校博士生公共英语课程开设的必要性,并阐述了思辨能力和学术英语语言能力之间的密切关系,提出通过学术思辨英语能力的培养促进学术身份的构建是博士生阶段公共英语课程的教学路径。同时通过实证证明这一路径的可行性和有效性,指出学术思辨英语语言能力的培养不仅能满足博士生国际学术交流的需求,更重要的是提升博士生的学术素养。

Based on questionnaires,interviews and text analysis,this paper emphasizes the necessity of English courses designed for doctoral students from the perspective of needs analysis.After expounding the close relationship between critical thinking ability and academic English proficiency,the paper proposes a teaching method to promote doctoral students’academic identity by cultivating the critical academic English ability.Empirical evidence is also provided to prove the feasibility and effectiveness of this method.The cultivation of the critical academic English ability can satisfy the requirement of international academic exchange and improve doctoral students’academic literacy.
