The Cultural Code of the Film Green Book:Interpretation Based on Metz’s Film Semiotics

2019年在中国内地上映的美国电影《绿皮书》套用好莱坞公路片的剧情,以诙谐幽默的影像声响组合,揭示了美国文化中的种族问题,留给观众无尽的沉思。通过运用法国克里斯蒂安·麦茨的电影符号学理论,对电影《绿皮书》中出现的部分符号进行探析,从而挖掘符号背后所隐藏的文化内涵,以期更深入体会此部影片的主题意蕴及审美价值。

The American film Green Book released on the Chinese mainland in 2019 applies the plot of a Hollywood road movies and uses a humorous combination of image and sound to reveal the issue of race in American culture,leaving the audience with endless meditation.By using the film semiotics theory of French Christian Metz,this paper analyzes some symbols in the film Green Book,so as to dig out the hidden cultural connotation behind the symbols to further understand the theme implication and aesthetic value of this film.
