《水浒传》的英译述介与读者接受及其启示

Introduction and Readers’ Reception of English Translation of Shuihu Zhuan and Enlightenment

作为明代小说四大奇书之一的《水浒传》,在中国长篇白话小说的发展历程中地位独特,具有奠基性的作用。作者梳理该作品在英语世界的译介情况,综述片段选译和全文翻译的脉络。立足接受理论的视角分析专业读者研究以及Goodreads书网普通读者评论,发现专业读者对译作的评价较高,有诸多代表性学者对其进行深入研究;普通读者对译作的认可度与接受度也较高。通过对《水浒传》在英语国家的成功译介与接受进行分析研究,探寻和思考中国古典文学高效“走出去”的路径,有助于促进中国文学外传,对扩大中华文化对异质文明的影响力具有一定的推动作用。

As one of the four greatest novels of the Ming Dynasty, Shuihu Zhuan plays a unique role in the development of Chinese fulllength vernacular novels. This paper reviews the English translation of this work, summarizing the translation of its selection of fragments and full text. Based on the perspective of reception theory, the author analyzes the research of professional readers and the comments of general readers on Goodreads. It is found that professional readers have high evaluation on the translation, and many representative scholars have conducted in-depth research on this work. The general readers also have a high degree of recognition and acceptance of the classical work. Through analysis and study of the successful translation and acceptance of Shuihu Zhuan in English-speaking countries, exploring and thinking about the effective way of "going out" of Chinese classical literature is helpful to promote the spread of Chinese literature abroad and expand the influences of Chinese culture on heterogeneous civilization.
