农史研究的创新之作--评李昕升《明清以来美洲粮食作物经济地理研究》

An Innovative Book on Agricultural History:Review of Study on the Economic Geography of American Cereal Crops Since the Ming and Qing Dynasties by Li Xinsheng

美洲作物长期以来都是农业史、经济史等领域关注的对象。当美洲作物与科技史(农业史)、经济史和历史地理相结合时,美洲作物史研究就被赋予了多重意义。李昕升的新作《明清以来美洲粮食作物经济地理研究》便是该领域突出的优秀著作之一。该书从整体史的视野出发,系统考察了浙江、云南、江西、广西等省玉米、番薯的传播状况,对明清以来美洲作物和人口增长之间的关系进行了再探讨,推进了美洲作物史的研究。本文旨在分析该书的叙述手法、研究视角和范式,并围绕其内容、史料运用、研究方法等方面展开简要评论。

For a long time,American crops have been attracting attention in the fields of agricultural history and economic history.When they are combined with the history of science and technology(agricultural history),economic history and historical geography,the study of American crop history possesses much significance.The new book Study on the Economic Geography of American Cereal Crops since the Ming and Qing Dynasties by Li Xinsheng makes itself one of the outstanding works in this field.From the perspective of total history,this work systematically examines the spread of maize and sweet potato in Zhejiang,Yunnan,Jiangxi and Guangxi provinces,and further discusses the relationship between American crops and population growth since the Ming and Qing dynasties,thus promoting American crops historical study.This paper aims to analyze the narrative technique,research perspective and paradigm of the book,and also comments briefly on its content,application of historical materials and research methods.
