From Indian Poetics to Comparative Poetics——One of the Huang Baosheng’s Achievements in Indian Studies

黄宝生是我国当代杰出的印度学家,从印度古典诗学研究与翻译到比较诗学研究,他都取得了突出成就。其专著《印度古典诗学》系统地概述了印度古典诗学的源流、体系、重要著作和流派等,对一些术语概念进行了详解和评点,填补了我国印度诗学研究的空白。其译著《梵语诗学论著汇编》汇集了十部最重要的梵语诗学代表作,为我国的印度诗学研究和比较诗学研究奠定了文献基础。其印度诗学与西方诗学、印度诗学与中国诗学比较研究的系列论文,体现了打通中国、印度和西方三大诗学体系,探索不同民族不同时代共同文心的学术旨趣。

Huang Baosheng is an outstanding Chinese contemporary scholar in Indian studies.He has made superior achievements in the study and translation of Indian classical poetics and in the study of comparative poetics.In his monography Indian Classical Poetics he gives a well-thought-out summary of the origin,system,important works and schools of Sanskrit Poetics,and gives a detailed explanation and comment on some terms and concepts,which has filled the gaps in the study of Sanskrit Poetics in China.In his translation work titled The Corpus of Sanskrit Poetics,he collects ten most important masterpieces of Sanskrit poetics,which has laid a foundation for the study of Indian poetics and comparative poetics in China.He also has made a series of articles published on comparative studies of Indian poetics and Western poetics and of Indian poetics and Chinese poetics.These articles reflect his academic aims of integrating the Western Poetics,Indian Poetics and Chinese Poetics and of exploring the common literary mind of different nations and different times.
