The improvement of running economy can be achieved by improving running shoes.Taking running as an example, this paper analyzed the influence of different shoe weight on human functional characteristics, and analyzed the relationship between shoe weight and running economy from gait characteristics and fatigue time.Research shows that:first, when runners are close to or at the physiological limit, the impact of shoe weight on running economy is significant. For professional athletes or marathoners, running shoes with light weight and strong rebound energy storage performance can improve sports performance.Second,at a given sub maximum pace, increasing the weight of shoes will increase the demand of the body,so as to reduce the economy of running.Third, when wearing a pair of running shoes to reduce the weight of more than 50 g in competition practice, you can obtain more prominent running economy. However, for novice or junior runners,long-term systematic training should be used to improve physical function and muscle economy, rather than wearing“lightweight”running shoes.
