Routledge published The Routledge Handbook of Critical Discourse Studies compiled by John Flowerdew and John E. Richardson in 2018 on the occasion of the 40anniversary of the birth of the critical approach to discourse studies. This paper summarizes the content of the handbook and comments on its contributions and features. The handbook provides a comprehensive introduction to the main theories, key concepts and applications of critical discourse studies and describes the latest developments and tendencies of the main approaches, methods, issues and theoretical applications of critical discourse studies.
